In 1964, the house band at The New York World's Fair was The Clubman which included both Al Kooper and Harvey Brooks.
A reader, Richard Adler, pointed out that Randy California of the group Spirit (ne Randy Wolf), Joe Walsh and Waddy Wachtel are also from Queens.
For a time, Cyndi Lauper left Queens to play with Flyer, a beach band. Melanie
was from Queens as was Patty Duke (included here because she had the hit,
"Don't Just Stand There," in 1965.)
