former Hassle, Howie Blauvelt, Peter Charles,
Jimmy Santoro and Myke Scavone. Blauvelt and Charles were also participants
in another popular band, Uncle Son. Ram Jam's "Black Betty" was a hit in 1978

deep, lasting and happy memory.

Doug
Stegmeyer, the "sergeant" of the Billy Joel Band, Doug committed suicide
in August, 1995. As a session musician, manager, producer and studio owner,
Stegmeyer was always working. He was a good natured man with strong opinions.
Doug appeared on many albums including those by Debbie Gibson, Bob James and
Phoebe Snow.
We got this
nice email: "Can you add"WHIPnCHILL" to your bandlist? They played the NY
& LI circuit circa 1967, with many legends, ie: Vagrants, Hassles, Rascals,
Illusion, Rich Kids, etc. I am a former member & the band was Queens based
& quite popular in 67! No recordings available. By the way, your site is FANTASTIC!
(ed. blushes) It's unbelievable that the 60s L.I. Rock circuit can stay alive!
WONDERFUL JOB! Thanx, Nick" Thanks, Nick.
