Edward "Little Buster" Forehand and The Soul Brothers have spent many years here mining the blues. Little Buster has to be Long Island's favorite performer, packing - no, jamming every venue he plays. Historically, he has a long and respected record. Moving to Long Island from North Carolina at age 16, he immediately starting playing the clubs. During the sixties, he was recording cool blues tracks- some self-penned, some coming from the best of the Brill Building. Doc Pomus wrote "Young Boy Blues" for him in 1967. Al Kooper covered "Looking For A Home" on the "Koopersession" album (with Mike Bloomfield.)

The man has helped countless Long Island musicians as the granddaddy of Long Island jam sessions and impromptu lessons. Several years ago, Buster and his wife, Mary, relocated to Southern California. Fortunately, it didn't last long. Mary's health returned and they just missed home too much.

Buster, who is blind, would like copies or tapes of his old recordings, "River's Invitation" (Jubilee 5491, 1964) and "I'm So Lonely" (Jubilee 5502, 1965). "Someone stole them right from under us. We'd really like to hear that music again." (UPDATE NOTE: After this was published, fans from around the world flooded him with copies of the originals, which are now framed and mounted on the walls!)

1995 saw the release of "Right On Time!" (Bullseye Blues BB CD 9562), a killer collection of originals and a "must-buy" for fans of the blues. He's also opened for Al Kooper as well as participating in several long tours. The time is right for Little Buster. It's about time! And in 2002, Mr. Forehand is still ripping it up with "Little Buster & The Soulbrothers."
