Our
Mission Statement
The
Long Island Music Hall of Fame is dedicated to the idea that
our musical heritage is an important resource to be celebrated
and preserved for future generations. A place to inspire,
in each person, the desire to explore and celebrate music
in all its forms. A place where the music community will find
the support, resources and leadership necessary to aid them
in that exploration. This will be an environment to inspire.
entertain, educate, and engage each person in the creative
process.
The
Long Island Music Hall of Fame Proposal:
The
Museum - This
will be a place where musicians of both regional and national
merit, local venues, and industry professionals are honored
as either part of the museum exhibits or as inductees into
the Hall of Fame.
The Resource
Center - A repository of information important to the
Long Island music community will be available to the public
for researching both the artistic and business aspects of
music. This facility will also house recorded works and additional
memorabilia of the artists in the museum, with a focus on
those who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Educational
Facility - This facility will be dedicated to the education
of any and all who seek to learn about music and its creation.
The Hall of Fame will endeavor to supplement and enhance the
NY State Educational core curriculum with programs that will
be made available to all Long Island schools.
The
Performance Venue - This will be a funded facility
that will encourage the performance of all music as a celebration
of the human spirit.
And
that is just the beginning...
