Blackmore’s Night

| 2025

Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore, the duo behind Blackmore’s Night, have built a remarkable musical partnership spanning more than three decades, blending Renaissance-inspired melodies with modern folk rock. Candice, a Hauppauge native and NYIT graduate, met Blackmore in 1989 on Long Island, and their shared passion for Renaissance music led to a creative collaboration that became both personal and professional. In 1997, they launched Blackmore’s Night, combining Blackmore’s guitar virtuosity with Night’s ethereal vocals and multi-instrumental talents. Their debut album, Shadow of the Moon, gained international attention, featuring collaborations with Ian Anderson and establishing the band’s signature mix of medieval instruments, acoustic textures, and folk-rock arrangements.

Subsequent albums, including Under a Violet Moon (1999), Fires at Midnight (2001), Ghost of a Rose (2003), and The Village Lanterne (2006), blended original compositions with inventive covers of classic rock and folk songs. Later releases such as Autumn Sky (2010), Dancer and the Moon (2013), All Our Yesterdays (2015), and Nature’s Light (2021) reflect their ongoing artistic growth.

The duo married in 2008 and has two children, while continuing to reside on Long Island’s North Shore. Their immersive performances at Renaissance festivals, castles, and historic venues worldwide, along with collaborations like Night’s 2022 feature with German folk rock band dArtagnan, have earned them gold records, critical acclaim, and a devoted global following. Candice Night has reached critical acclaim with her solo CD “Sea Glass”, issued in 2025.
